Item type:Publication, Comparative Study of Bloodletting Therapy and Acupuncture Treatment on Headache Caused by “Blood-Fire Origin”(Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences, 2019-03-31); ; ; Objective: The study aimed to compare the effects of bloodletting and acupuncture treatment on patients with headaches caused by “blood-fire origin”. Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out at Affiliated Hospital of National University of Inner Mongolia, with two treatment groups, one receiving bloodletting and the other acupuncture. The effects of both treatments were evaluated using the traditional medical questionnaire, visual analog scale scores, and serum lab tests at baseline and one month after treatment. Sixty patients with headaches caused by “blood-fire origin” participated in the study and 27 were male while 33 were female. The data were analyzed at baseline and 1month after treatment using t-tests. Results: After treatment, all complaints related to headaches improved in both study groups when compared before the treatment (p<.05). The visual analog scale pain score was significantly reduced (p=.002) both groups after treatment. Following treatment, the serum nitric oxide and endothelin levels were significantly reduced (p=.0001) compared to pre-treatment levels. Conclusion: Bloodletting and acupuncture decreased the frequency of headache score and reduced the intensity of pain score in patients with headaches. The nitric oxide and endothelin levels were significantly decreased in patients who received bloodletting treatment compared to acupuncture. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Traditional Mongolian medicine RuXian-1 suppress the breast hyperplasia by GRP78/PERK/CHOP pathway in rat model(2024-08-30) ;Shuangquan Zhao ;Chimedragchaa Chimedtseren; In this study we aimed to study the protective effect of RuXian-1, which is a traditional Mongolian medicine on hyperplasia of mammary glands in rats and to explore its possible mechanism. Methods: The rat model of breast hyperplasia was induced by intramuscular injection of estradiol benzoate. The rats were randomly divided into 4 groups: saline treatment group (negative control), estrogen treatment group (model group), RuXian-1 treatment group and raloxifene treatment group (positive control). RuXian-1 group and raloxifene group were given 3.0 g/kg of RuXian-1 and 1.8 mg/kg of raloxifene daily for 4 weeks, respectively. After treatment, the breast tissue of each group was harvested and confirmed the expressions levels of glucose-related protein 78 (GRP78), C/EBP homologous protein (CHOP), and protein kinase R (PKR)-like endoplasmic reticulum kinase (PERK) which were known that functions as an endoplasmic reticulum stress marker by Western blotting. Results: Compared with the normal group, the GRP78, PERK and CHOP protein levels in the breast tissue of the model group were significantly decreased. Compared with the model group, the expression of GRP78, PERK and CHOP in RuXian-1 group significantly increased, the expression of GRP78 and CHOP of raloxifene significantly increased (p < 0.05), and the expression of PERK did not change. Conclusion: The Mongolian medicine RuXian-1 has therapeutic effect on mammary hyperplasia in rats, and its therapeutic mechanism is related to activating the GRP78/PERK/CHOP signaling pathway and promoting mammary gland cell apoptosis.Scopus© Citations 1 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, The hyperplasia of the mammary gland effect of the Mongolian Remedy RuXian-I in rats reduced by estrogen and progesterone via inhibition of MAPK and NF-κB pathways(2024-04-28) ;Shuangquan Zhao ;Chimedragchaa Chimedtseren; ; Bin ZhangBackground: The aim of the present study was to evaluate whether the HMG (Hyperplasia of the Mammary Gland) effect of RuXian-I in estrogen- and progestogen- induced HMG rats is mediated through the activation of MAPK (Mitogen activated protein kinase) and NF-κB signaling pathways. Materials and methods: Fifty virgin female Wistar rats were randomly divided into in control and HMG, RuXian-I (0.75 g·kg−1, 1.5 g·kg−1, 3 g·kg−1, respectively) groups, 10 in each. Injections of estrogen and progestogen were given to establish rat models of HMG and RuXian-I at the same time. Changes in nipple heights were measured; pathologic changes of HMG in rats were also observed under a light microscope; the phosphorylation levels of MAPK and NF κB and the expression levels of TNF-α and IL-1β were measured. Results: Compared with the control group, the nipple diameters and height were increased significantly, the numbers of MG lobules were increased, there were changes in breast histopathology, the levels of TNF-α and IL-1β increased significantly, and MAPK and NF-κB were activated in HMG rats. Compared with the HMG model group, the increased nipple height was decreased, the numbers of MG lobules were reduced, the degree of HMG in rats was alleviated obviously, and the phosphorylation level of MAPK and NF-κB and cytokines TNF- α and IL-1β levels in serum were decreased by RuXian-I treatment. Conclusion: Those results suggest RuXian-I has protective and therapeutic effects on HMG rats induced by estrogen and progestogen and is likely to activate MAPK and NF-κB signaling pathways. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
