Item type:Publication, Effects of Mongolian Medicine Modified Sugmul-7 on Hyperplasia of the Breast(Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences, 2021-09-30); ; ; ;Tuul KhalzaibaastGong JuhuaObjectives: The aim of this study was to explore the mechanism of regulating the endocrine function of hyperplasia breast in rats with Mongolian Medicine Modified Sugmul-7 (MMMS-7) by Proteomics and provide an experimental basis for its development and clinical application. Methods: Ninety female SD rats were randomly divided into 6 groups: the intact group – the animal group that was injected with neither estradiol, nor progesterone, nor administered Mongolian Medicine Modified Sugmul-7; the negative control group – the group injected with estradiol and progesterone; the positive control group - injected with estradiol, progesterone and administered mastodynon 0.06 g/kg; and the treatment groups – injected with estradiol and progesterone, each in their respective dose groups. After the start of the experiment, each rat except the intact group was intra peritoneally injected with estradiol 25d and progesterone 6d at a standard dose of 0.3 mg / kg for a total of 31 days. Results: Four differential proteins were found through proteomic analysis, namely Ppp3cb, Cacybp, Gstz1, and Nmd3 and their 5 related pathways. Conclusions: The above pathways are all known to be related to the treatment of breast hyperplasia caused by endocrine disorders. Treatment with Mongolian Medicine Modified Sugmul-7 is completed through regulation of the gastrointestinal and endocrine systems. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Comparative Study on Macroscopic Anatomy of Human Placenta in Term and Post Term Pregnancy(Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences, 2020-09-25); ; ; ; Objectives: We aimed to compare the macroscopic anatomy of human placenta in term and post-term pregnancy. Methods: This maternity hospital-based comparative study was carried out in Mongolia, in the year 2017-2018. For study purposes, placentae were collected from 1061 women between 17-44 years of age with live birth only. Term: 38 weeks to 40 weeks gestational period, and post-term: beyond 41 weeks gestational period. The macroscopic features of the placentae were measured as a standard protocol that is approved Department of Anatomy, Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences. Results: A total of rounded shapes was found in 72% of cases and oval in 26.3% cases, irregular shape in 1.7% cases of the three shape groups. The width and the weight of the placenta (t = 7.20, t = 13.27 respectively) were compared between groups term and post-term found to be significant (p < 0.001). Conclusions: We conclude that irrespective of term or post-term placentae, most of the placentae were round in shape. The averages of placental morphometric parameters of both of term or post-term placentae are in the normal limit. This study concludes that as the gestational period increases length, width, thickness, and weight of placenta increases in different. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Pregnancy Outcome in Women with Gestational Diabetes Mellitus: Age and Pre-pregnancy BMI-Matched Prospective Cohort Study in Ulaanbaatar of Mongolia(Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences, 2024-06-30); ; ;Chuluunbileg BatboldObjective: This study aimed to assess maternal outcomes in women with Gestational Diabetes Mellitus. Method: A multicenter, age, and pre-pregnancy body mass index-matched prospective cohort study was conducted in five maternity hospitals across Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, between February and April 2022. All participants (24-28 weeks pregnant) underwent an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT; 75 g, oral glucose, capillary), and the results were considered as GDM (ADA, 2022). The GDM and non-GDM groups were followed from pregnancy to delivery. Maternal and neonatal delivery outcome data were extracted from the clinical records of five maternity hospitals. Results: The mean age and pre-pregnancy BMI were 35.05±3.8 years and 26.21±3.7 kg/m2, respectively. According to the univariate analysis, women with gestational diabetes had higher rates of pregnancy-induced hypertension, cesarean delivery, and labor induction than the non-GDM group. On the multivariate analysis, the risk of undergoing cesarean delivery and developing pregnancy-induced hypertension were 2.8 (aOR=2.83 CI=1.07-7.47) and 6.9 (aOR=6.91 CI=1.35-35.23) times higher, respectively, in the case group compared to the non-GDM group. Conclusion: Women with GDM had more complications during pregnancy and delivery than those without. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Invasive Hemodynamic Monitoring and Arterial Blood Gas Exchange During Spinal vs General Anesthesia for Cesarean Delivery in Mongolian Parturient(Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences, 2024-12-12); ; ; Objective: This study investigated the accuracy and precision of continuous, invasive blood pressure obtained using the arterial line system in patients undergoing cesarean section with spinal and general anesthesia. Methods: A total of 150 parturient women who underwent C-sections from July 1, 2021, to Dec 30, 2023, were divided into two groups: the GA (general anesthesia) group (n=50) and the SA (spinal anesthesia) group (n=100). In this prospective observational study, we measured and compared the changes in hemodynamic fluctuation and arterial blood gas deviations under C-section with either spinal or general anesthesia. Results: One hundred fifty patients were recruited for the study after exclusions, and data were analyzed for 150 patients. There were no significant differences in the time from anesthesia to incision, the operation duration, infused crystalloid volume, blood loss, and urine output. The most frequent complications were surgery hypotension, tachycardia, nausea, and headache in the SA group, and tachycardia, hypertension, in the GA group These complications may cause SA’s impact on the sympathetic nerves, resulting in dilated blood vessels and reflex tachycardia. Conclusion: It has been suggested that the choice of anesthesia technique has a significant impact on hemodynamic stability during cesarean section. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The quality of life and patient satisfaction scores after uterine artery embolization are better (p=0.001). There was no statistically significant difference with regard to conception rate or the need for cesarean delivery (p>0.05). - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Minimal Stimulation Using Gonadotropin Combined with Clomiphene Citrate or Letrozole for Intrauterine Insemination(Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences, 2022-12-29); ;Nasantogtokh Erdenebileg ;Enkhmaa Davaasuren; Objective: In this study we aimed to evaluate the administration efficiency of first-line drugs such as clomiphene citrate (CC), letrozole (L), and the gonadotropin follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) to be used in ovulation induction for intra uterine induction (IUI) in Mongolian patients. Methods: In this prospective single center study we recruited 158 infertile women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Results: In the FSH group, 15 patients (31.2 %) had mycoplasma. On the other hand, the group CC and the L group had a significantly higher number of pregnancies compared than the FSH group. Moreover, there was a trend for an increasing volume of menstruation in the CC group. 38.6 % having a medium volume of menstruation, while 59.6 % had a big volume of menstruation. Stimulation characteristics of patients shows that estradiol on started day (SE2) was significantly higher in the FSH group (768.91 ± 575.64), while it was 523.66 ± 435.84 and 419.36 ± 326.30 in the CC and the L groups, respectively. Conclusions: A minimal stimulation protocol using FSH, CC and L separately was done in Mongolian women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Clinical pregnancy rates were 1.46 ± 0.50 in the FSH group, 1.35 ± 0.48 in CC group, and 1.38 ± 0.49 in L group. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Performance of Ovarian Response Prediction Index As Predictor of Ovarian Response(Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences, 2022-06-30); ;Nasantogtokh Erdenebileg ;Enkhmaa Davaasuren; Objective: We aimed to evaluate potential predictors of response to controlled ovarian stimulation (COS), including follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), Estradiol, antral follicle count (AFC), and ovarian response prediction index (ORPI). Methods: In this prospective, single center study, we recruited 55 infertile women underwent the first cycle of in vitro fertilization/ intracytoplasmic injection/intrauterine insemination (IVF/ICSI/IUI). We measured serum FSH and anti-mullerian hormone (AMH) level by ELISA and evaluated AFC. In accordance with formula, AMH x AFC / patient's age, ORPI was calculated. Results: The study participants are aged between 25 to 48 in infertility women. The mean age of the participants are 34.5 ± 5.5. The hormonal predictors, as well as ovarian response, are presented in Table 2. Predict ovarian hypo response by E2 and ORPI. Multivariable models improved the predictive accuracy for hypo-response (AUC > 0.6). With regard to the hyper-response, ORPI, E2 and AFC showed good predictors. In the multivariable model, the ORPI, E2 and AFC presented the best predictive accuracy, with an AUC 0.81, a sensitivity of 87 %, and a specificity of 67 %. Conclusion: ORPIndex is predicting the hyper-response more accurately than the ovarian hypo- response in infertility women. Participant’s ovarian reserve biomarkers (AFC and E level) was significantly increased predictive accuracy. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Effect of Mycoplasma hominis and cytomegalovirus infection on pregnancy outcome: A prospective study of 200 Mongolian women and their newborns(2017) ;Otgonjargala, Byambaa ;Becker, Kathrin; ; In Mongolia, diagnostic tests for the detection of the sexually transmitted mycoplasmas, ureaplasmas, Herpes simplex virus (HSV), and cytomegalovirus (CMV) are currently not routinely used in clinical settings and the frequency of these STIs are enigmatic. The prevalence of these STI pathogens were prospectively evaluated among 200 Mongolian pregnant women and their newborns and correlated with pregnancy outcome. TaqMan PCRs were used to detect bacterial and viral STI pathogens in pre-birth vaginal swabs of the pregnant women and in oral swabs of their newborns. A standardized questionnaire concerning former and present pregnancies was developed and linear regression analysis was used to correlate pathogen detection with pregnancy outcome. Ureaplasmas were the most prevalent of the tested pathogens (positive in 90.5% positive women and 47.5% newborns), followed by mycoplasmas (32.5% and 7.5%), chlamydia (14.5% and 7.5%), trichomonas (8.5% and 4.0%) and gonococcus (0.5% and 0%). CMV was found in 46.5% of the pregnant women and in 10.5% of their newborns, whereas HSV-2 was detected in only two mothers. Multiple regression analyses indicate that colonization of the mothers with U. urealyticum, M. hominis, T. vaginalis or CMV is associated with transmission to newborns and that transmission of M. hominis or CMV from Mongolian pregnant women to offspring is associated with reduced neonatal length and gestational age. Thus, diagnostic tests for their detection should be implemented in the clinical settings in Mongolia.Scopus© Citations 12 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Pre-Pregnancy BMI and Gestational Weight Gain Have Independent Associations with Birth Weight: A Prospective Cohort Study in Mongolia(2026-05); ; ;Zorigtbaatar, Orgil; Background: Neonatal birth weight is a key determinant of short- and long-term health outcomes. Pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI) and gestational weight gain (GWG) are important predictors of birth weight; however, their independent associations remain unclear, particularly in settings where national GWG guidelines are lacking. Methods: A prospective cohort study was conducted among 340 pregnant women in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in 2022. Data were collected using standardized questionnaires and anthropometric measurements. Pre-pregnancy BMI and GWG were classified according to World Health Organization criteria and the 2009 Institute of Medicine guidelines. Multivariable linear regression models were used to examine independent associations with neonatal birth weight. Results: The mean maternal age, pre-pregnancy BMI, and GWG were 30.3 ± 6.0 years, 23.5 ± 4.4 kg/m2, and 14.3 ± 6.2 kg, respectively. Both BMI and GWG were independently associated with neonatal birth weight (p < 0.001), with no significant interaction observed (p = 0.147). Birth weight increased by 29.7 g (95% CI: 18.6-40.8) per 1 kg/m2 increase in BMI and by 31.7 g (95% CI: 24.0-39.4) per 1 kg increase in GWG. Compared with normal BMI, overweight/obesity was associated with higher birth weight, while excessive GWG increased and inadequate GWG decreased birth weight (all p < 0.05). Conclusions: Pre-pregnancy BMI and GWG were independently associated with neonatal birth weight, with GWG showing a slightly stronger association. These findings highlight the importance of optimizing maternal weight before and during pregnancy. Countries undergoing rapid nutritional transitions may benefit from developing context-specific GWG guidelines, with Mongolia representing a relevant example.
